Jared has sent Romero and Maurico back to their original clubs, the gaffer hoping to cut costs with the clubs current financial crisis. However he has not ruled out purchasing two new loanees to improve the depth of the squad.

Speculation mounts over Jared's job

Speculation has mounted that current gaffer Jared has been told by the board he has 4 games prove to the board that he deserves his job- or he could be sacked. Lions maul jaded Fulham

Millwall crept into an unlikely play-off spot tonight after a comprehensive 3 nil victory tonight over a tired looking Fulham here at Craven cottage. Its the second time the teams have faced each other this week, and after Mondays 3rd round English shield victory, its back to back wins for the Lions over their well healed West London neighbors. Fit again, Esteban Granero earned a recall tonight, but it was the another of Millwall's increasingly impressive midfielder's who opened the scoring. After an even 25 minutes, great work by Mauro Boselli resulted in a corner for the visitors being met by the head of unmarked Frenchman Sebastien Lemoine. In at times,a bad tempered contest which saw Referee Uriah Renie, cautioning 4 players, the Lions had to wait until the hour mark before putting the game beyond the cottagers reach. Man of the match Boselli capped an excellent offensive display with a long range screamer, which arrowed beyond a despairing Mark Schwarzer. Barely two minutes after the restart, and with Fulham in disarray, Spaniard Granero was gifted the time to take two efforts to poke the ball home for the South Londoners third and final goal. In an increasingly tight division the 3 points sees the Lions rise to 6th spot, and with 24 points ,well on their way to manager Dave Izod's survival target of 45. Next up for Millwall is this weekends visit to the New Den from a revitalized Sheffield Wednesday, where a win for the relegation tipped Lions may see them climbing into fourth spot.

Understrength Fulham loose to Milwall

Fulham lost 2-1 to Millwall in the Shield after fielding a vastly understrength side. In only the 8th minute Maccarone poked home to score the first goal of the match and the score moved to 2-0 when Airton headed home in the 15th minute, but 20 minutes later, yougn Spanish winger Adrian Gonzalez fired a low shot into the bottom corner to give his side home. The match ended in controversy when young Aussie Brendan Gan was slide tackled inside the box- cries for a penalty rung through Craven Cottage but Lee Probert waved play on- much to the disgrace of the Fulham- replays suggest Fulham should have had a chance to score a late equaliser.
